You may have seen clips of cell phones being used to explode popcorn. Here’s a neat compendium:

But seriously, the video clips were part of a stealth marketing campaign masterminded by the CEO of Cardo Systems, Abraham Glezerman, to sell Bluetooth headsets.
The popcorn effect was created by dropping popped corn into the scene and digitally removing the unpopped kernels.
