Blue Sky Limousine

I like MacGyver. I think it’s an awesome show and promotes good morals, an intelligent attitude, and classy behavior. The first time I saw Saturday Night Live spoof MacGyver with a MacGruber sketch, I loved it. It focused on alcoholism, and how alcohol can wear down even the coolest celebrities.

Since that initial sketch there have been others, and I think what they do is either explore the real-world implications of a situation (like how Dilbert highlights the drudgery of office work), or they explore the downhill slope that is currently being experienced by one former celebrity or another.

I respected the original potential for the sketches to be hilarious, but on the whole they just feel negative… But there’s something to be said for the small amount of nostalgia they create.
